ICL-KPO VS to equip over a thousand schools in Tatarstan
ICL-KPO VS has won a tender organized by the Ministry of Education of
Tatarstan for the delivery of about 9,000 personal computers to over a
thousand schools in the republic, bundled with Windows 2000 and supplied
with Philips monitors and printers. Currently, the contractor is assembling
the PCs and installing them in computer classes. In about 500 schools local
area networks have already been installed. Philips monitors are being
supplied by St. Petersburg-based OCS. ICL-KPO VS plans to complete the
project by May. Kazan based ICL-KPO VS was established by UK based ICL in
the early 1990's. It assembles PCs under license from Fujitsu Siemens.
