i-Teco to provide Severstal with HP hardware worth $2 million
i-Teco has announced that it has won two tenders held by Severstal in the
city of Cherepovets for the delivery of Hewlett-Packard computer and
networking hardware. The contracts are valued at $450,000 and $1.5 million,
and call for the delivery of peripherals, workstations, servers, and active
networking hardware. According to i-Teco general director Mikhail
Bondarenko, the tenders also brought together such companies as Sterling
Group, KAMI-North, Lanit, and others. Mr. Bondarenko says previously
Severstal had a tripartite agreement with HP and his company. However, this
year the customer made a decision to organize a tender. The new hardware
will be used for the upgrade of the enterprise's information infrastructure.
The warranty support will be provided by i-Teco's local partner Dialine,
certified by Hewlett-Packard as its service center early this year.
